Weekly report 8

In the eighth issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news:

  • Guangzhou: With three new members joining the system this month, enthusiasm is high among the media. We have brought you pictures of the new trains and the interiors of the stations as usual.

Trains for line 9.

Trains for line 13.

Trains for line 14.

...And previews of the new stations:

A platform on line 9 (Fei'eling).

Guangzhou North station on line 9 featuring a lion.

Nansha Passenger Port (southern terminus of line 4) with a ... maritime theme.

Nanhai God Temple on line 13.

Knowledge City on the knowledge city line. (Knowledge City is the name of an academic city)

  • Beijing: Following the Yanfang line, we'll focus on S1 today. In spite of its name it's not really a commuter line and a bit futuristic than usual, that it is a maglev line. (I wonder how our German readers feel about the name)

A platform on S1. Note the words on the train read "Beijing maglev".

Well, if tourism is the original intention, I'd say it's accomplished.

Inside the train.

  • Hefei: It has been a long time since news on our impending line 2 was ever brought in until now. After 5 days the trial operation came to an end yesterday. We’ve received these lovely photos taken from the site. Please view them below:

I know that these names can be boring but...

Thank you for your time and see you in the next issue!
