Line 14 phase I, Line 21 and Guangfo line rest section in Guangzhou are officially announced to open on the 28th December!
While I think there's no need to emphasize, line 14 will be the first metro line in China to introduce an express service. Express train will only stop at Jiahewanggang, Xinhe (cross-platform interchange with the branch line), Conghua Coach Terminal and Dongfeng stations. As there is no precedents I estimate a great confusion among the passengers. Line 21, on the other hand, only opens a tiny section between Zhenlong West and Zengcheng Square, barely providing one interchange at Zhenlong with line 14's branch line. A three-station extension on Guangfo line from Yangang to Lijiao completes the line.
I will do a follow-up report tomorrow just for sure, but more importantly, to mark out another line on our list!
