Weekly report 43

In the 43rd issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news:
  • Guangzhou: The largest current project under construction. Its name? Line 8 north extension. While it's probably not the longest, it is definitely the most challenging considering all the relocation works involved within the urban area. That's exactly why it is greatly inspiring when the tunnels are announced to be completed, the whole section from Fenghuang Xincun to Jiaoxin. It is further revealed that the two stations with a chance to open this year are Tongfu West and Cultural Park. Rainbow Bridge - Xicun section is severely behind schedule due to pipelines and dense buildings across the area.
  • Shenzhen: The completion of the leading candidate to open next year, line 8 phase I, connected to the system via line 2 phase III (east extension) expected to open at the same time, draws the attension of all Shenzhen citizens as the first line to enter Yantian District, renowned for its beaches.
  • Shijiazhuang: Two months ago, a new stretch opened on line 1, pointing northwards; seven months ago, the tunnels of line 3 phase I northern section were cleared, behind the stages; eight days ago, the tracks of line 3 were welded together, connecting the four stations; four months later, it opens...?
  • Zhengzhou: It is not uncommon for a new transportation line to open during a specific occasion, especially a sport event, which is consistent with the case of line 14 phase I in Zhengzhou, already under test runs. In order to be in accordance with the National Ethnic Games in September, this line is taking measures to open around the end of August. This is the longest line planned in Zhengzhou intersecting line 1 once at Tielu.
The replete issue 43! Longer than usual, which is an omen for ... the abundant harvests in the following months!
