News this week: Nanjing S3 is officially announced with an opening before the 1. Jan. Another source suggests that it is the 20th of this month, but unconfirmed. Hefei Line 2 is reported to be opening on the 26th November (déjà vu...) For those who reads this weekly report for the first time, welcome to my (irregularly updated) weekly report issue 2! Shenzhen's first tramway line, the Longhua Tram, opened on 28. Oct! (Sorry for being so late) As its name suggests, the tram lies entirely in the Longhua District. Its southern terminus is connected to the northern terminus of Line 4, i.e. Qinghu station. The officially published route map. As you can see the system has a Y-shape, but it's actually operated into 3 lines. See the map below. So, line 1 is the red line, and line 2 the green, and line 3 the blue. Some pictures: The ticket is pretty much the one in Guangzhou, huh?  As you might deduce, the QR code on the ticket is for validation when getting on. Let's hope we'll see each other very soon. The next time you see me is probably when I pronounce the inauguration of S3 in Nanjing.

Hello my friends! I’m sure you’re all missing me since my last journey report (which was like 2 weeks ago?). The journey itself is a year ago, though. After having realized that this could be my last disposable summer vacation for the next 3 years, I had absolutely no hesitation in booking all the tickets and the hotels. I had been thinking about Nanjing for a long time, for it had the 4 th largest urban rail transit system at that time (that would be No. 5 now since Shenzhen has now the 4 th largest). Considering the convenience of travelling in the Yangtze Delta Region (which technically includes Jiangsu , Zhejiang and Shanghai ), it was just a little hesitation before I decided to add Suzhou and Shanghai on my list. I planned a long itinerary covering every aspect from culture to cuisine, and to the metros, of course, for the three cities into its deepest core.
