More details of urban railway lines in Beijing: While this is not about subway lines, Beijing did open two more lines than the aforementioned subway lines in this year: the so-called suburban railways. Did it ever occur to you that Beijing has a line S2 long before the opening of S1 today? (For details please visit Wikipedia ) But it's true that it is so humble that not even locals know its existence. And again, although both named as a "S-line", S1 and S2 are operated separately by Beijing Subway and Beijing Suburban Railway respectively. So this year, BSR decided to open two more suburban railway lines converted from older rail lines, the Sub-Center line and Huaimi line. They both started operation today.  If you pay yourself a visit to Wikipedia, you'll find more projects with a title S, but it's hard to tell whether they'll ever be put into reality. Details on the openings on the 28th: Guangzhou:  1. The opening of line 9 directly resulted in the opening of Gaozeng station on line 3.   2. Qingsheng station on line 4 opened too.   3. Qingtang station on line 9 will not open until next year.  4. Zhenlong station on the Knowledge City branch line will provide a cross-platform interchange with line 21 opening next year.

Breaking News! Line 4 extensions, line 9, line 13 and Knowledge city branch line in Guangzhou are officially announced to open tomorrow on the  28th December ! There are words that Qingsheng station on line 4 might open alongside with the extension. The reason of the delay was basically due to the pipelines straight underneath it, but they've already been moved away, so I suppose there's no more reason for delay. I will do a follow-up report tomorrow just for sure, but more importantly, to cross out another line on our list! In the twelveth issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news: Nanjing : Photos of the impending S9 have been publicized. Please view them below: S9 is the line with the fewest stations of the system (6 stations in total) and is expected to open very soon. My guess: 28th December. So, it's really a great surprise for me and I suppose to you too, that the last issue of this year didn't end with yesterday! Hopefully we can save some more for the 30th.  Thank you for your time, I hope we can meet somewhere before the New Year's Eve! See you later!

Weekly report 11

In the eleventh issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news: Chongqing : The officials have finally released photos of line 10. (Obviously public transport means nothing to anyone here) Please view them below: I'm really impressed by the numbers of interchange stations on the route map... *Please note that the station on line 3 has changed its name to "Terminal 2 of Jiangbei Airport" to adapt to the new line. Inside the new trains. It is equipped with luggage racks. So, I guess this is the last report of this year, and although we still have a lot to cover, most of the lines will be opening in 3 days starting tomorrow. Again, thank you for your time and your support over the last few months, I couldn't have achieved this without all of you, and of course, Merry Christmas to all of you! See you tomorrow!
