An enthuasiastic railfan has taken the following pictures: The control panels. Inside the trains. The tram with line 9 as the background. It is currently being dragged by this truck to test if it'll fit the rails, so no one on the driver's seat. Encountering line 9 on the viaduct again. Nanjing : Opening date of S7 remains unreleased, but we can have a glance inside the train thorough this video: Suzhou : No particular news, just a news reporting the opening of T1 extension:                       Those red trains were originally meant for T2, expected to open this August. Looks like this month is going to be

Mystery in Tianjin

At around 12 pm UTC+8 the official account of Tianjin Metro posted an article with the title "Metro line 6: full service on 26th April" (which is tomorrow), only to delete this message an hour later. As this is most likely a false alarm I didn't post this in the weekly report, but you can always be sure that your editor knows what to capture in the shortest time. ...So here are the photos! The current route map. Who knows how long it's still going to take before line 5 becomes coloured? (It's in trial operation though) *As you might notice, Shuanglin station on line 1 is marked as grey. In fact this station has already suspended operation since 28 December, 2016, to be reconstructed as an underground station in order to fit the east extension... which doesn't appear any sooner to open... Hence the station is closed as of now.  I shall do a confirmation tomorrow, and hopefully our line 5 and line 6 could open any sooner!

Weekly report 21

In the 21st  issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news: Jinan : A city just a little south of Beijing is having its first metro line named as R1, following a peculiar rule that all metro lines in this city should be labelled with "R". Tunnel works have just been finished five days ago, and if we take things like rail laying and installing and test runs into consideration, we might better expect this next year, but comparing that to line 7 in Wuhan, which still haven't completed its Changjiang section and yet trumpeting to open this year... maybe it's not that impossible after all.  The R1 line isn't going to be much useful, considering that the city centre lies within the blue circle. Guangzhou : As all of you know, Airport North is comming tomorrow, and new trains for line 14 has also been delivered lately.  Chengdu : A new tram system named "Rong 2" (literally "Hibiscus 2&q
