Breaking News! I declare hereby that the Airport Intercity Railway in Xi'an  is now in service  today  on the  29th September ! This is an intercity railway line not operated by Xi'an Metro, but by "Shaanxi Intercity Railways Co. Ltd" with the station "Airport (T5)" postponed since T5 is yet to be completed. Cross-platform interchange with line 4 is available at Beikezhan Beiguangchang, although only if you're transfering from the Intercity line to line 4. Single journey ticket of the line. Here (and from the picture above) we can see that the logo is clearly different from that of Xi'an metro's. For further details make sure to join our special guided tour departing tomorrow. Breaking News! I declare hereby that line 1 south extension in Wuxi  is now in service  on the  28th September ! So it's three new stations this time. I'm so much obliged to have the honour to mark the line on the list.

Breaking News! I declare hereby that S1 east in Wenzhou  is now in service  today  on the  28th September ! The section opened this time is Olympic Center - Shang'ou Avenue. This completes the line that connects all the important transportation hubs of Wenzhou (two railway stations and one airport). I'm so much obliged to have the honour to mark the line on the list.

I declare hereby that one new station on Harbin metro line 1, Wapenyao , is  now in service since the 28th September .  Thus the metro line 1 in Harbin is complete. This station was planned as one of the five stations of the phase III, though the main project opened in April.

Breaking News! I declare hereby that Daxing Airport Express in Beijing  is now in service  today  on the  26th September ! As you would expect, this is the first day for the Daxing Airport to commence commercial flights. This line is said to be the first intercity commuting line powered with Fully Automated Operation (FAO), pioneering the era of high speed intercity commuting... Breaking News! Caidian line in Wuhan is officially announced to open on the  25th September ! Strictly speaking, Caidian line refers to the section Bolin - Huangjinkou located in the Caidian District, as it operates as an extension of the exisiting line 4. The nine new stations will significantly improve the transportation environment in this area as its main line, line 4 is the most commuter-friendly line joining three major raiway stations. In the 47th  issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news: Hohhot : I am as perplexed as you as I write this, at the same time exhilarated: Just six days after the commencement of the test runs on line 1, line 2 is announced to have its tunnels completed as well! It is such a blast in my life to witness a secondary, maybe tertiary city in terms of economics to possess a two line system formed in just 2 years! The first of this kind in China! Beijing : Beijing's remaining biggest projects after Daxing Airport Express, namely line 7 east extension and Batong line south extension, are as of now under test runs. The two join at their termini at Universal Studios Resort, the first Universal theme park in China. Breaking News! Ningfeng line prioritized section in Ningbo is officially announced to open on the  28th September ! (Don't ask me why I call it this way... It's the official project name translated from Chinese...) So, judging from the name, I'd say most of you could tell that there's another section opening later. That is correct! The "prioritzed" section is referred to the three stations (which leaves six stations as the "later" section) on this nine station line, which can be viewed as a three station extension on line 3 since they operate as one line. Breaking News! I declare hereby that line 14 in Zhengzhou  is now in service  today  on the 19th September ! So we won't be having a perfect crosshair anymore... Look at that astonishingly short route map on the panel... Seems like they've planned not to replace it in years... Out of the six stations indicated on the map, only three of them (Tielu, Zhengzhou Party School of CPC, Olympic Sports Center) are ripe for opening this time. The mascot for the National Ethnic Games in the concourse since it's pretty much the reason of its opening... I like the design of that wooden panel at the end of the car (not sure whether it's real). I'm so much obliged to have the honour to mark the line on the list.

Breaking News! Line 1 in Changzhou is officially announced to open on the  21st September ! The 35th (as of now) city in China to have a metro system! I will do a follow-up report later just for sure, but more importantly, to mark out another line on our list!

In the 46th  issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news: Hefei : Following the completion in August, line 3 has been under test runs since the 5th, for an opening date around December. This is a very long line winding up to 37 kilometres with 33 stations, four of which elevated, the first of this kind in the entire system. Qingdao : A small leftover section on line 2, i.e. its west section bringing another four new stations, is under test runs until December. It is presumably the sole new metro section to open in Qingdao for the next 365 consecutive days.  Guangzhou : The remaining section on line 21 which has just started to do test runs last month will most probably face an opening again in December, falling short of our expectations in September. Currently it is stopping at every station, but once the line is complete, it will introduce a similar operation mode to that of line 14, providing local and express services. It i

Breaking News! I declare hereby that APM line in Shanghai Pudong International Airport  is now in service  today ! The satellite terminals S1 and S2 opened on the same day as well.

The largest single satellite terminal in the world... and the newest. Two of them are now in Shanghai's Pudong Airport, with two separate APM lines linking them to the previously established terminals T1 and T2. Two APM lines inside the Pudong Int'l Aiport are announced to be opened on the 16th September . Once opened, Pudong will become the first airport to be equipped with a steel-wheeled airside transit system.  The official promotion video. It is operated by 4 car automated trains shuttling every 5 minutes in a 2'30'' journey. Checking in at this airport can get more than tricky here: Passengers with the letter G or H on the boarding pass need to take the train to the satellite terminal for their flights after the security check, whereas passengers arriving at the satellite terminals will have to be transported to the main terminal for their luaggage claim. In the 45th  issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news: Nanning : I observed an intriguing tendency demonstrated in many secondary cities: Instead of building a full circle line, the popular alternative is to build two lines intersecting at both ends. The same thing goes for line 2 as well, which will be connected to line 3 after its east extension, with tunnels already finished last month. Ningbo : Unexpected developments in Ningbo: Ningbo is going to have a suburban railway line named Ningfeng line (Ningbo - Fenghua) ( Wikipedia )! Originally planned as S3, this line is in fact an extension of line 3, as all trains on line 3 will continue to travel onto Ningfeng line. (Since when have you started to follow the Japanese way of operating?) Ningbo Metro, ver. 2020. Today we'll take you into the deepest part inside and beneath Beijing's Daxing Airport,  one of the largest single-structure airport terminal in the world,  something exclusive to our readers only.
