Weekly report 19

In the 19th issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news:

  • Shanghai: News finally came in from the site of the first APM line named Pujiang line after its completion last year. Official photos have been posted. Please view them below:

And such. the official map.

As you can see, this is an APM.

  • Suzhou: We have heard hardly anything from this city for a long time, but this time it's on the move. Although not a metro line, the tram lines are spreading in the west suburban areas, and this time, it's line 1's west extension. For further details view below:

So the extension starts from the Longkanglu station (shown as the red dot on map) and terminates at West Wetland Park.

And here you can see the interchange station with the future line 2 (under construction) and their trains (line 1 on the left, line 2 on the right).

And here is a map for line 2:

  • Ürümqi: this is a completely new city, and not even I expected it to be on my list, but things turned out really well in this city, as to 4 lines under construction on the same time now!

As you might see, the first half opens on June whilst the next half opens on December.

And here we are:

So the most concerning question now is: which one of the above will open first? Will it be Shanghai, be Suzhou with a scheduled date around middle April, or Nanjing who's been left unmentioned for months?

And so, thanks for your time, it's really an honour to show you all these, and see you next time!
