Weekly report 30

In the 30th issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report,  we proudly present you with the following news:
  • Chengdu: The official account of Chengdu Metro recently posted the following photos of Rong 2 tram. It is currently under test runs. It is further revealed that line 3 phase II and III will open in December.
     




  • Wuhan: First of all, line 7, while just having its tunnels completed 2 months before, is currently undergoing a full line test run from Garden Expo North via Yezhi Lake to Qinglongshan Ditiexiaozhen (literally Qinglongshan Metro Town), the latter section also branded as the Zhifang line, which is considered an extremely intricate project with 4,345 karst caves on the line's designed route. Despite having different names, the two lines operate as one as indicated by the route map below.

Number two: Caidian line now has its tunnels completed and will be operative very soon.

  • Tianjin: Due to the incompetence to bring either line 5 or line 1 east section into service, the city council decided to fire the CEO and the manager of the Tianjin Metro Corporation. (Latetst news).
            Great job, isn't it? 
            Now let's hope for a better chance to see our line 5 in October.

【速報】Pudong APM

The largest single satellite terminal in the world... and the newest. Two of them are now in Shanghai's Pudong Airport, with two separate APM lines linking them to the previously established terminals T1 and T2. Two APM lines inside the Pudong Int'l Aiport are announced to be opened on the 16th September . Once opened, Pudong will become the first airport to be equipped with a steel-wheeled airside transit system.  The official promotion video. It is operated by 4 car automated trains shuttling every 5 minutes in a 2'30'' journey. Checking in at this airport can get more than tricky here: Passengers with the letter G or H on the boarding pass need to take the train to the satellite terminal for their flights after the security check, whereas passengers arriving at the satellite terminals will have to be transported to the main terminal for their luaggage claim.
