Breaking News!

Line 4 in Xi'an is officially announced to open tomorrow on the 26th December!

As a historical city and host to numerous cultural sites, the stations are exceedingly exquisite in terms of decorations.

Stations:

Overview.

1) Daminggong station: Named after the imperial palace situated in the former Chinese capital city (Wikipedia), the whole station is decicated to this majestic wonder in reverence towards the royal family.

Scene of the foreign envoys' audience with the Emperor (envoys from the Roman Empire seemingly on the left side). An allusive reference to the silk road as Xi'an (then Chang'an) was the starting point.

2) Datangfurongyuan station: Its name is derived from a nearby theme park, which is a modern reconstruction of a royal garden. Lotus, also known as "Furong", received great appreciation from the nobles and the name went on ever since.

Resplendently dressed ladies visiting the park at night with a lattern in the hand. A popular activity among the upper class.

3) Feitian Lu station: Inspired by the fresco in the Mogao Caves (Wikipedia). The goddess soaring in the sky resembles the euphoric life up in the heaven.

I will do a follow-up report tomorrow just for sure, but more importantly, to mark out another line on our list!
