Special guided tour, Act I: In Beijing (Daxing Airport Express)

Welcome to our special guided tour. Today we'll take you into the deepest part inside and beneath Beijing's Daxing Airport, one of the largest single-structure airport terminal in the world, something exclusive to our readers only. Please make sure to follow me strictly throughout the whole journey.

Before Boarding:

Our journey starts here from Caoqiao station, the only interchangeable station on this line.

A hint of blue and a probable hint of aviation in the station.

Two of the eight cars of the train are reserved for "business class", currently separated from the "economic class" by little bushes.

On the train:

Welcome aboard the most immediate and rapid vehicle towards the airport! Feel free to have a look around!

The trains feature a similar interior to the CRH high speed trains.

The only three stations on this line.

You can either choose to have a seat in the business class with more spacious, fully-equipped seats...

...Or the normal economic class, with equally comfortable seats.

Please make sure to properly place your bulky luaggage in the designated rack.

The highest speed can go up to 160 km/h, finishing the whole journey in 19 minutes.

Arrival

No time was harmed during the span of this journey.

Now, you can either choose to insert your single journey ticket, wave your transit card against the reader or ... use the facial recognition payment, a function provided (persumably) by a mobile online payment platform that contains the biometric information of the user.

Airport Hall

This is the most private part of the whole tour, as only authorized personnel (and us) have access to it, though it will soon be a public area. This is the end of our guided tour, and you have 30 minutes to take pictures. Please gather exactly 30 minutes later at the gate, where the bus back will be waiting for us.
