Weekly report 47

In the 47th issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news:
  • Hohhot: I am as perplexed as you as I write this, at the same time exhilarated: Just six days after the commencement of the test runs on line 1, line 2 is announced to have its tunnels completed as well! It is such a blast in my life to witness a secondary, maybe tertiary city in terms of economics to possess a two line system formed in just 2 years! The first of this kind in China!
  • Beijing: Beijing's remaining biggest projects after Daxing Airport Express, namely line 7 east extension and Batong line south extension, are as of now under test runs. The two join at their termini at Universal Studios Resort, the first Universal theme park in China. Shiyuan station, the station before the terminus, will by then become a major conjunction served by line 7, Batong line and Intercity Railway Connector (Wikipedia), an intercity railway line connecting the old airport to the new, currently under construction.
  • Jinan: Line 3 (previous name R3 but they seem to have dropped the R at last) and the second metro line in Jinan is now near the end of its test runs, provided that it opens punctually on the 28th September as many media claim. Thus two very separated vertical lines are created, and yet to be connected in years time.

Time is pressing, but you get this —— the more urgent the matter, the greater the fun.
