Weekly report 49

In the 49th issue of our (irregularly updated) weekly report, we proudly present you with the following news:
  • Chengdu: Endgame in Chengdu as workers on the construction sites fight against time to get as much tunnels of the six lines completed, which inevitably involves line 6, the longest line summing up to 69 km as it tours around the city in a semi circular shape. That it has to open in stages is therefore not surprising. 38 of its 56 stations, or two thirds of the total project are announced to be completed last month, phase III somewhat behind.
  • Fuzhou: Two more interchange stations next to each other are added to line 1 as phase II of this line completes its construction on the four new stations, presumably the last extension to it. This makes the line a little bit closer to the delta where Min River joins Wulong River.
  • Ningbo: Slow yet major progress of the city's latest current project: Phase II of line 2, a five station extension to the current northeast terminus, picking up the historical port town of Zhenhai, had a new tunnel section completed, while three sections are previously completed since 2018 and justifiable for a test run, which makes the remaining two stations the second phase of phase II.
The last issue of November, a brief repose before the busy December unfolds!
